The Student Council serves in the area of student government and is voted into office annually by the wider student community. Interfacing with the three levels of staff in the institution (administrative, academic, ancillary) the council functions to liaise between the staff and students in various areas.

The Executive tier comprises the President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and a Public Relations Officer. Sitting members are delegated to serve for a year and are drawn from all the programme groups within the institution. One major role of the Students Council is to identify areas wherein student services can be improved or new services can be implemented, and work with administration in ensuring that the concerns of students are aired and addressed.

An Academic Staff member is assigned as advisor to the Council to facilitate greater communication between the two groups. Selected individuals from clubs and societies also sit on the Council in an advisory capacity. The Student Council President also represents students on the Board of Management of the Institution.

Message From The Student Council's President

I am indeed delighted to welcome all new and returning students to Knox Community College both those at the main campus at Spaldings and those at our outreach locations. I am especially delighted to welcome our new students, who I can guarantee you, in choosing this noble institution as your place of study, you have taken the first step in climbing the academic ladder and the corridor to excellence. Our returning students are already mindful of the extensive diversity of opportunities available at Knox Community College to develop themselves both academically and otherwise. I sincerely hope that you are revitalized and refocused to continue your search for superiority.
I encourage all students to take full advantage of all that Knox Community College has to offer by supporting all events that will improve your college experience, particularly those that the student’s council organizes. Specifically because Knox community College must be allowed to take a multifaceted approach in an effort to secure its rightful position as the most progressive, successful and vibrant tertiary institution in Jamaica land we love. It is worthwhile to understand that they are challenges and obstacles that you will face on your expedition to success. I urge you therefore to remain focused despite the challenges, I therefore encourage you to labor co-operatively as “we strive to serve and not to yield”. I am in high anticipation to work with you and I wish for you success for this academic year and the years to come.
