Assembly
Assembly is mandatory for staff and
students on all campuses. As a United Church of Jamaica and The
Cayman Island affiliated institution, Knox Community College maintains a
rich and diversified programme of religious activities.
Every Monday at 11 a.m. there is a general assembly
where all members of the College meet to develop spiritual mooring.
Other religious activities include a week of
spiritual emphasis, usually held during the last week of October, when
lecturers and students are encouraged to meet each day in order to
develop spiritual awareness.
Administrative Block
TThe Principal and the Vice Principal offices, in
addition to the Accounts department, are located in this area. In
order to meet with the Principal and Vice Principal, appointments must
be made with their respective secretaries. The Cobbla, Mandeville
and May Pen campuses have their own administrative offices.
Student Services Office
This is located on the Spalding Campus above the
administrative block. This office has direct responsibility for
all student matters (e.g. Transcript, applications, reports etc.).
It services all four campuses.
There are however student services representatives on all the campuses.
International Affairs
Knox Community College has always had a sense of its
global mission. In response to regional integration and the demands of
globalization, the institution has sought to forge ties with like minded
institutions in the rest of the world. It is against this background
that the Office of International Affairs was established.
The main purpose of this
office is to foster educational links with regional
and international colleges / universities. This office is
instrumental in organizing staff and student exchanges between our
College and Colleges in Canada, USA, and England .Through these
linkages, students upon completion of their programmes here, have an
opportunity to widen their knowledge and skills in their respective
fields of study abroad. Faculty also benefits from opportunities to
visit, teach and observe best practices in institutions overseas. /p>
Today the College has
established linkages with educational institutions all over North
America and Europe. These institutions include:

The College, through its International Office seeks
to foster cultural and intellectual collaborative initiatives aimed at
strengthening global linkages. To this end, the Office is constantly
seeking to broaden existing linkages and to establish new ones. The
College is presently engaged in dialogue with its overseas partners with
a view to having its courses articulated with these institutions; this
would further facilitate student exchanges as well as continuing studies
abroad. It is hoped that additional scholarships to study overseas will
be generated from this process.
Teacher Evaluation
In the democratic climate in which we operate, it
is our policy to afford students the opportunity to evaluate their
lecturers at least once during each semester. This process is to ensure
the highest levels of accountability of lecturers towards course
delivery and to maintain our commitment toward providing a rewarding
academic experience for our students. The evaluation process is
administered by the Campus Director on each campus in a manner that
maintains the integrity of the process and in an atmosphere free from
intimidation.
Clubs
and Societies
Knox Community College has always been an
institution which strives to develop well-rounded students. With
this in mind, the college encourages the formation and maintenance of
various clubs and societies whose activities will foster the social,
cultural, environmental and spiritual development of our students.
To encourage participation a specified period is
time-tabled each week to facilitate these activities. Each student is
encouraged to become a member of at least one club and to participate in
and promote activities that positively impact their peers and their
communities. Listed below are the various clubs and societies:

culminate on sports day.
