CODE OF DRESS

The uniform is a symbol of the College and as such should be worn with pride and kept clean and tidy. If students must access campus facilities outside of regular classes, they must be in uniform. Shorts, mini skirts, haltertops, spaghetti straps are not appropriate dress on the campuses.

 1.      Students must wear the correct uniform - white shirt/blouse (no darts/styles), navy blue pants/skirts (tailored), the school tie, black shoes and white socks/stockings - while on the premises and while travelling to and from the College on official College business.

2. All students must comply with the dress code. Exceptions will be made on:

a)      Religious grounds with written support from a Justice of the Peace.

b)      Health grounds with the support of a medical certificate.

(However, each case will be judged on its own merit.)

3. Skirts must be worn knee length and they must not be clinging.

There should be no tucks, pleats or A-line.

4. Shirts and blouses must be worn inside the skirt or pants at all times. Bush jackets and outside blouses are for Nursing students only.

5. Shoes must be neat and clean and must be one solid color - black only. Shoes must be worn at all times.

6. Trousers must be worn at the waist and must be neither tight nor baggy.

7. Undergarments should not be conspicuous.

8. ONLY females are allowed to wear earrings (ONE pair). Small earrings should be worn in the earlobes. No other body ornaments are allowed. Large hoops and coloured earrings are not permitted.

 9. Elaborate hairstyles will not be permitted. The emphasis should be on simplicity, tidiness, and neatness. Hair styles which distract or obstruct the view of others should be discouraged.

10. Hair ornaments, including head bands and scarves must be limited to stipulated school colors- black, white or navy blue. These should be functional and not decorative.

11. Where hair extensions are worn, they must not be elaborate, should match original hair colour, not be outstanding and should be neat.

12. Males must wear simple low haircuts. No designs or styles deemed inappropriate by the school administration will be allowed. Persons claiming to be of a particular persuasion must declare this in writing to the Principal on or before registration.

13. Make-up, for example, lipstick and eye shadow of any colour must not be worn.

14. Where ties, epaulettes, crests or badges are required, they should be worn properly for the duration of the school day and while traveling to and from school.

15. No head or hair coverings may be worn in school buildings.

(Exceptions would be for health or religious reasons with administrative approval)

16. Jeans is not a substitute for the uniform. Permission must be given in order to be admitted to class. Students who because of extenuating circumstances are forced to wear jeans must submit a letter explaining the nature of those circumstances to the Office of Student Services.

NOTE: A student may be reprimanded if in the view of the administration the student has violated the rules implied or stated herein.
